Care Provider Donates Twelve Scholarships to Children on Coalition Waitlist
Kids 'R' Kids of Wesley Chapel donates the equivalent of $92,000 to sponsor twelve children from Pasco County who have been on a waiting list for subsidized child care services. Bimal Bhojani, Chief Executive of Kids 'R' Kids and Betsy Kier, Coalition Assistant Director sit down with Lissette Campos for another Positively Tampa Bay segment to discuss the donation.
Coalition Wins 2016 WEDU "Be More Humble" Award.
The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. was honored with the 2016 Be More Humble Award at the 11th Annual WEDU "Be More" Awards, at an on field luncheon sponsored by the Tampa Bay Rays and WEDU Public Television. The Be More Humble Award is driven by an online poll voted on by the public in the WEDU viewing area from November to December (2015). This prestigious award exhibits the connection and relationship the organization has with the community and the people it serves by allowing the general public to pay tribute to the nonprofit that they feel most exemplifies the essence of the community.

The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. was recently considered among top nonprofit organizations within the Tampa Bay region by WEDU Public Television. The "Be More Unstoppable-Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award" (2015) is the most coveted and is determined through extensive research by an independent judging committee and given to an organization that, through a superior level of service, helps their community to "Be More."
The Coalition will compete against 70 top nonprofit organizations and individuals within the Tampa Bay region.
Coalition Awards First Five-Star Rating
The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. is proud to announced its first "five-star rating" of an Early Learning Center, issued to Miss Betty's Childcare and Preschool in Port Richey, Florida. On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, the Coalition will presented Miss Betty's with an inaugural, five-star banner, thanks to the recent implementation of "Sunshine Stars."
Sunshine Stars is a Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) designed to recognize and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement as well as assist parents in understanding how to choose and evaluate efficient early learning programs. Sunshine Stars ensures high quality learning experiences for our children by issuing a "star-rating." A five-star rating indicates the highest of quality programs.
Coalition ranks 7th in the Nation
The Early Learning Coalition of Pasco Hernando was recently recognized by The NonProfit Times, a leading national publication for nonprofit management, as one of the "50 Best NonProfits to Work For in 2012."
The Coalition ranks 16th on the list of 50, which includes organizations as the American Heart Association with 2,694 employees (ranked 39th) and the Mayo Clinic Health System with 1,512 employees (ranked 48th).
The top 50 organizations were subdivided into three categories: large, medium and small employers. Within the small employers list, the Coalition ranks seventh alongside organizations as the Animal League Defense Fund (ranked 4th) and the Parents as Teachers National Center, Inc. (ranked 6th).
Of the 17 small organizations listed, the Coalition is the only organization with headquarters in the state of Florida, and is one of only four organizations listed within the top 50 organizations with headquarters in Florida.
The Coalition's ranking is listed in a special April edition of The Nonprofit Times.

The Tampa Bay Business Journal named the Early Learning Coalition of Pasco and Hernando Counties, Inc. as the Education Nonprofit of the Year during its annual awards ceremony held on June 24, 2010 at the Embassy Suites Hotel at the University of South Florida.
